Drone Attack Causes Fire at Ozon Logistics Center in Krasnodar, Operations Halted
A drone strike on Ozon's Krasnodar logistics hub triggered a major fire, suspending warehouse operations and disrupting supply chains.

On August 24, the logistics center of major Russian e-commerce platform Ozon in Krasnodar was targeted by a drone attack, resulting in a large-scale fire and operational disruption. The incident was confirmed by local authorities and Ozon representatives, who reported evacuation of employees and activation of emergency services at the site.
Operational Impact and Safety Measures
The Krasnodar logistics center, responsible for storage, sorting, and dispatching of both food and non-food products, has suspended warehouse activities indefinitely. Online orders relying on inventory from this facility will face delays, as deliveries to the center are temporarily halted for safety reasons. Ozon noted that alternative logistics hubs will be utilized to maintain some level of order fulfillment during the disruption.
"The warehouse operations have been stopped, and emergency services are actively working to extinguish the fire," stated Evgeny Naumov, head of Krasnodar.
Authorities reported that debris from the downed drone landed in multiple locations across the Prikubansky District, including a private children's center, resulting in tragic casualties. Two children died and nine individuals, including seven children and two adults, were hospitalized. The drone fragments also caused damage to residential buildings and construction sites, as confirmed by regional officials.
Broader Security Context and Regional Effects
In addition to the Krasnodar incident, intelligence analysis from ASTRA indicates a similar drone attack targeted a large Ozon warehouse in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai. The facility spans over 93,500 square meters and serves as a critical node for the storage and distribution of goods. Local residents reported hearing explosions, and regional governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed that air defense forces are actively repelling drone incursions aimed at industrial zones.
The repeated drone strikes on logistics infrastructure underscore escalating security challenges affecting supply chains and e-commerce operations in southern Russia. The damage to Ozon's facilities raises concerns about the resilience of retail logistics networks amid ongoing regional instability.
Market analysts will be monitoring Ozon's upcoming financial releases for the impact of these disruptions on revenue, inventory management, and investor confidence. Potential costs related to infrastructure repair, insurance claims, and rerouted logistics could weigh on quarterly earnings and operational metrics.
