Twenty-two countries, including the United States and multiple European nations, have formally accused Iran of orchestrating attacks on their sovereign territories. In a joint statement released on June 11, these nations called on Tehran to immediately cease its operations targeting civilians abroad.

International Condemnation Focuses on Iranian Revolutionary Guard Activities

The countries involved—Germany, Albania, Australia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and the US—expressed serious concerns over Iran's ongoing attempts to intimidate and harm individuals on foreign soil.

According to the joint declaration, the intelligence services of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its external unit, known as the Quds Force, have engaged in "deadly conspiracies and malign activities" targeting Iranian dissidents, journalists, and Jewish communities abroad.

"Attempts to kill, kidnap, persecute, intimidate, or otherwise attack people on our territories undermine national sovereignty and international norms. These actions must cease immediately," the statement read.

These accusations highlight a coordinated campaign of violence and intimidation reportedly carried out by the Iran-affiliated group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (Islamic Movement of the Right-Handed Followers). This group has claimed responsibility for attacks against Jewish communities and arson incidents on synagogues in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

The coordinated denunciation by over twenty nations underscores the increasing concern among Western and allied governments regarding Iran's use of proxy groups and covert operations to advance its geopolitical interests and suppress dissent beyond its borders.

Financial markets and investors will be closely monitoring the geopolitical risks posed by Iran's aggressive posture, as escalating tensions could impact regional stability, energy supplies, and international trade relations. Companies with exposure to Middle Eastern markets or those involved in global supply chains may face increased volatility linked to these developments.

Furthermore, investors are advised to watch for potential sanctions or regulatory measures that could arise in response to these activities, which might affect corporate earnings and balance sheets, particularly in sectors such as energy, defense, and finance.

The united stance taken by these countries sends a strong message to Tehran to halt operations that violate international law and threaten the safety and sovereignty of other nations.
