Russian forces launched drone attacks on Kharkiv during the night of July 12, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure and injuring several people. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged, primarily in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where two people, including a 16-year-old girl, sustained injuries. Additional impacts were reported in the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, reported that a garage cooperative caught fire in the Kyivskyi district as a result of the drone strikes. In total, three individuals sought medical assistance following the attacks.

Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted a food industry enterprise in Dnipro, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties from this strike.

Broader Context of Russian Missile and Drone Strikes

The Ukrainian Air Force reported multiple drone launches and guided aviation bomb attacks targeting several regions including Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Poltava, and Odesa oblasts during the same night.

On July 11, Russian forces executed a wave of missile strikes using six Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, four Kh-59/69 cruise missiles, two Kh-31 anti-radar missiles, and 121 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across Ukraine. Kyiv was heavily affected, resulting in 12 casualties. Kharkiv also experienced damage to a civilian enterprise with additional injuries reported.

The morning of July 11 saw a missile strike on Odesa that killed two civilians. Later that day, Russian forces dropped aviation bombs on Sumy, causing five deaths and injuring 30 people. In Zaporizhzhia, four individuals were wounded by guided bombs, with casualty figures still being confirmed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"These attacks not only cause tragic loss of life but also disrupt essential civilian infrastructure and industrial operations," said a regional official.

These ongoing attacks reflect intense military pressure on Ukraine’s economic and civilian systems, underscoring risks to regional industrial output and community stability.
